Cruise Industry leaders to meet in Rome for 2009 European Cruise Industry Conference

Fidelio Cruise Software is pleased to be participating once again in the European Cruise Council 2009 Conference which will be held on 19th May 2009 at the Palazzo Colonna in Rome.

The conference is now firmly established as the leading event for senior cruise industry professionals. Now in its third year, the event brings together senior executives from cruise lines, shipyards, suppliers, ports and representatives of the European Commission (EC).

Previously senior executives from over 26 different countries have gathered in Brussels. But this year, the ECC Conference moves to Rome to join the EC for European Maritime Day. At this event, EC policy and industry developments will be reviewed and discussed, offering special opportunities for networking

Delegates at the European Cruise Council Conference will have the opportunity to attend the plenary session with Silvio Berlusconi, Prime Minister of the Republic of Italy and Jose Manuel Barroso, President of the EC.

The European Cruise Council will release the fourth independent economic impact study at the Rome conference. Once again the statistics for 2008 are expected to show sharp increases in the growth and economic benefit which underpin the position of Europe as the new centre of gravity of the cruise industry – a phrase coined by David Dingle, Chairman of the ECC and CEO of Carnival UK last year, to reflect Europe’s position in what is becoming an increasingly global market.
